Prof. Xinping Wang currently serves as a professor,
doctoral supervisor, and national registered planner at the School of
Architecture, Southeast University (Nanjing, China). He has successively
obtained degrees in Economic Geography and Urban and Rural Regional Planning
(Bachelor) and Human Geography (Master and Doctoral) from Nanjing University.
He currently serves as the Deputy Secretary-General of the Urban Planning
History and Theory Academic Committee of the China Urban Planning Society, and
the Regional Planning and Theory Committee of the China Urban Planning Society.
He is also a member of the Urban Economics Academic Committee and Foreign Urban
Planning Academic Committee, the deputy director of the Resource-based Cities
Professional Committee of the China Natural Resources Society, the director of
the China Regional Science Association, a standing member of the Discipline
Construction Committee of the China Urban Economics Society, and the Editorial
board member of Frontiers of Architectures (A&HCI, ESCI). He was awarded
the 5th National Outstanding Urban Planning Science and Technology Worker. His
main research areas include new urbanization and new urban–rural space
research, regional and territorial spatial master planning, urban strategic
planning, industrial park and innovation space development and planning.
