Guinevere Granite received her BA from Kenyon College, MS from UNH, and MA and PhD from UB SUNY. She is the Director of Human Anatomy and an Associate Professor of Anatomy and Forensic Anthropology at USUHS. She is an Adjunct Associate Professor at UMGC. In 2017, she received the Professional Achievement Award from UMGC and was featured on the Smithsonian Channel documentary Secrets: Bog Bodies (Season 4, Episode 7). In 2019, she founded the Group on Women in Medicine and Science (GWIMS) at USUHS. She also received the Dean’s Faculty Impact Award in 2019. Since 2018, Dr. Granite has served as a Board Member on the Maryland State Anatomy Board. In 2021, she was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society and received the Dean's Faculty Teaching Award. She also received a Research Infrastructure and Services USU Intramural Research Award in 2021. In 2022, she was elected as Faculty Senate President-Elect and received the Outstanding Pre-Clerkship Faculty Award from USUHS SOM C/O 2023, the Outstanding Civilian Teaching Award from USUHS SOM C/O 2022. In 2023, the Outstanding Pre-Clerkship Faculty Award from USUHS SOM C/O 2024, the GSN Award for Interdisciplinary Collaboration and Contributions, and the Excellence in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Award from the American Association for Anatomy. She is currently serving as the Faculty Senate President. Her research interests include anatomical variations and Northern European Bog Bodies.
