Author Biographies

Dr. Ching Sin Siau received her Ph.D. from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia in 2018. She is a Senior Lecturer and researcher in the Health Education Programme of the Clinical Psychology and Behavioral Health Programme and the Centre for Community Health Studies, Faculty of Health Sciences, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. She is a member of the Scientific Research Working Committee, WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (WHO FCTC) under the Ministry of Health Malaysia. She is also the recipient of the APEC Australian Women in Research Fellowship and was a Visiting Research Scholar at the WHO Collaborating Centre for Research and Training in Suicide Prevention, School of Applied Psychology, Griffith University, Australia. Her research areas are in suicide, behavioral management of nicotine use disorder, and medication adherence.

Prof. Dr. Kairi Kõlves received her MA and PhD in Sociology from the University of Tartu, Tartu, Estonia in 2001 and 2006, respectively. Between 1999 and 2008, she worked at the Estonian-Swedish Mental Health and Suicidology Institute and joined AISRAP in 2008. She has been involved in several Australian, Estonian and international projects and has been an adviser to the World Health Organization. She works at the Australian Institute for Suicide Research and Prevention (AISRAP). She is the Director of the WHO Collaborating Centre for Research and Training in Suicide Prevention, School of Applied Psychology at Griffith University. She is a member of several national and international advisory committees (e.g., the WHO’s Strategic and Technical Advisory Group on Mental Health, Brain Health and Substance Use). Her research topics mainly include suicide research and prevention, suicide trends and cross-cultural differences, and the impact of sudden events.

Muhamad Nur Fariduddin (Dr) is a Senior Lecturer from the Department of Physical and Health Education, Faculty of Education, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM). He completed his PhD studies in Health Education focusing on simulation education and has recently led multiple projects in the area of resuscitation training for the non-medical community including school students, disabilities and Indigenous groups. He has published several papers in various journals and serves as an editorial member and secretariat for associations. His teaching disciplines include anatomy, physiology, and health education and his interests include resuscitation, simulation and health education.
