Dr. Alina Miron currently serves as a lecturer at the Department of Computer Science, Brunel University London, London, UK. She is also a member of the Intelligent Data Analysis (IDA). Dr. Miron has a PhD degree in machine learning in the field of autonomous vehicles and she is an artificial intelligence researcher, developer, and educator. She has an excellent understanding of data, especially real-time data, and a strong background in computer vision, natural language processing, and data science. Her main research areas include Computer Vision, Medical Imaging, and Time Series Data.
Dr. Monomita Nandy is currently a Professor in Accounting and Finance at Brunel Business School (BBS), Brunel University London (UK), and the Vice Dean International of the College of Business, Arts and Social Sciences (CBASS). She has completed her two PhDs from the University of Calcutta, India, and the University of Rome Torvergata, Italy. Prior to joining Brunel University, she held academic and research positions at Lally Business School, New York, Radboud University, Holland, Surrey University, UK, and leading institutes in India. She is very popular among students and obtained student-led best teacher awards. She is awarded for her innovative and technology-led teaching. She is interested in interdisciplinary research focused on digitalisation in achievement of sustainable development goals alongside her disciplinary research in emerging issues in Corporate Finance. Her research works are published in high-impact international peer-reviewed journals like IJFE, JBE, TIJA, BSE, and others. She acts as an associate editor of the leading journals, IJFE and IJFS. She is the chair of the South-East group of the British Accounting and Finance Association, a member of the IMA Technology Solutions & Practices (TSP) Committee (USA), a board member of the Centre for AI and Lab Leader at Centre for Entrepreneurship and Sustainability, Brunel University London. She is also a research advisor at companies in the UK and abroad, like Qi Digital, UK and Exergie, Nigeria.
Dr. Jyoti Choudrie is currently a Professor of Information Systems at the University of Hertfordshire, Hertfordshire Business School, Management, Leadership and Organisation (MLO) department where she previously led the Systems Management Research Unit (SyMRU). She is also a convenor for the Global Work, Economy and Digital Inclusion group and the Editor-in-Chief for Information, Technology & People journal. In terms of research, she is known as the Broadband and Digital Inclusion expert at the University of Hertfordshire, which was also the case at Brunel University. She has attained expertise in the non-adopters and adopters research area that has led her to understand the digital divide where her research influence lies. She is also very focused on examining and understanding the digital inclusion, digital divide aspects by considering internet access for older adults, which has led to her working with AGE (UK) Hertfordshire and a local, Indian radio station, Desi Radio. She also works with Age (UK) Hertfordshire, Hertfordshire County Council and Southend YMCA where she is undertaking a Knowledge Transfer Partnership project investing the role of Online Social Networks (OSN). Moreover, she is focused on Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications in organisations and society alike, which accounts for her interests in OSN, machine and deep learning.
Dr. XiaoHui Liu is a Professor of Computing at Brunel University London, UK. Xiaohui conducts interdisciplinary research in artificial intelligence, data science and optimisation, with application in diverse areas including biomedicine and engineering. Professor Liu has published more than 300 papers in refereed journals, and since 2014, he has been named as a Highly Cited Researcher for 10 consecutive years in Computer Science, Engineering, or Cross-Field (Clarivate/Web of Science).
Prof. Yongmin Li currently serves as a Professor of Computing at the Department of Computer Science, Brunel University London, UK. He received his PhD degree from Queen Mary, University of London, MEng and BEng from Tsinghua University, China. Before joining Brunel University, he worked as a research scientist in the British Telecom Laboratories. Prof. Li is a Senior Member of the IEEE, and a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. His main research areas include computer vision, image processing, video analysis, medical imaging, bio-imaging, machine learning, pattern recognition, automatic control, and nonlinear filtering. He is a multiple academic award winner, including the MICCAI RETOUCH Grand Challenge 2023, MVA Most Influential Paper over the Decade Award 2019, Best Paper Awards Bioimaging 2018, HIS 2012, BMVC 2007, BMVC 2001, and RATFG 2001. His work on face recognition, automated driving, and retina image analysis has influenced research in these areas and led to impactful applications.
