Prof. Dr. Ernest A. Adeghate is a professor at the Department of Anatomy, College of Medicine and Health Sciences, United Arab Emirates University, and a past Chairperson of the Diabetes and Cardiovascular Research Priority Group, at United Arab Emirates University. He obtained his MD from Semmelweis University Medical School, Budapest, Hungary, and his PhD from the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. The Hungarian Academy of Sciences awarded him a DSc in 2010. He also has a Master of Family Medicine degree from Monash University, Australia. He is the Editor-in-Chief of the Open Medicinal Chemistry Journal, and a member of the Editorial Board of the Current Diabetes Reviews, Dubai Diabetes and Endocrinology Journal, Neuroendocrinology Letters, and Journal of Diabetes Research. His research interest is in the field of experimental diabetes and diabetes mellitus.
