Gary W. Breton is Callaway Professor of Chemistry at Berry College in Mount Berry, Georgia, USA. Dr. Breton obtained his BS degree in Chemistry in 1987 from Stony Brook University in New York under the mentorship of Dr. Robert Kerber. Dr. Breton obtained his PhD in Physical Organic Chemistry from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Cambridge, Mass in 1991 under the mentorship of Dr. Frederick D. Greene. Following a three-year postdoctoral fellowship at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in the labs of Dr. Paul Kropp, Dr. Breton joined the faculty at Berry College. During his time at Berry, he has served as Chemistry Department Chair and the Dean of the School of Mathematical and Natural Sciences. Dr. Breton is currently back in faculty rank enjoying working with students in the research lab and teaching chemistry courses.
