Dr. Wei Xiu currently serves as an Associate
Researcher at the Academy of Sciences, China University of Geosciences
(Beijing). He graduated from the Department of Environmental Engineering of
Kunming University of Science and Technology in 2011. In 2016, he received a
PhD degree in Environmental Science and Engineering from the China University
of Geosciences (Beijing) and worked as a lecturer in the Water Environment
Isotope Laboratory of the Academy of Sciences at the same University in the
same year. He became an exceptional Master’s supervisor in 2019, was promoted
to Associate Researcher in 2020, and was appointed as a Doctoral supervisor in
2021. He is one of the eighth batch of “truth-seeking scholars” of the China
University of Geosciences (Beijing). From November 2018 to December 2020, he
served as a Visiting Scholar at the School of Earth and Environmental Sciences
and Williamson Research Center (Molecular Environmental Science), University of
Manchester, UK. He has published more than 40 scientific research papers in
many international academic journals and he is also a reviewer for many
internationally renowned academic journals such as Environmental Science and
Technology, Environmental Pollution, Journal of Hazardous Material, etc. His
main research areas include Environmental Microbiology, Biogeochemistry, and
Geomicrobiology.
