Zvi C. Koren is Professor Emeritus at the Shenkar College of Engineering, Design and Art in Ramat-Gan, Israel. He has been the Director of the Edelstein Center for the Analysis of Ancient Artifacts at Shenkar since the center’s inception in 1991. He was the Head of the (currently named) Department of Chemical Engineering at Shenkar from 1999 to 2004. From 1977–1991, he was a professor in the Department of Chemistry in the Faculty of Engineering at the Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art in New York, and later became Full Professor and Chairman of the Department. He received his B.S. in chemistry (with a mathematics minor) from Brooklyn College in 1971 and his Ph.D. in physical chemistry from the City University of New York (CUNY) in 1977. In 2012, he was appointed as Dean of students at Shenkar College, and received the President’s Award for Excellence, Creativity, and Innovation for his record of achievements at Shenkar.
