Dr. Matthew J. Farrer received his BS in Biochemistry from
King’s College during 1986–1991, and his PhD in Human Genetics from the St.
Mary’s Hospital Medical School, Imperial College during 1991–1996. He is currently the
Lauren And Lee Fixel Chair, a Professor of Neurology. He is a Canada Excellence Research Laureate and a Distinguished Investigator of Mayo Foundation. His research topics mainly include: genetics and
neuroscience of Parkinson’s disease.
