Dr. Balaguru Sethuraman obtained
his M.Tech from IIT Madras and PhD from College of Engineering Guindy under
Anna University. He carried out his postdoctoral research work at the National
University of Singapore. He works as Dean of the School of Mechanical Engineering
at VIT Bhopal. He has 28 years of experience in leading Engineering
Institutions. In 2019, he was invited to Kocaeli University, Turkey, under the
Mevlana Mobility Programme with a grant as an International faculty to handle a
technical course. He solely authored a best-selling textbook on Dynamics of
Machines under the Cengage Learning. He brought out two edited books. He is an Editorial team member of the
International Journal of Metallic Materials. In 2008, his proposal fetched a
grant of Rs. 8 lakhs under the MODROBS Scheme. He established an International
chapter known as Material Advantage Student Chapter at VIT Bhopal as Faculty
Advisor. He has guided 3 PhD scholars and 30 M.Tech projects. He has published more
than 60 papers in reputed journals. He has presented 30 papers at International
conferences held in India and abroad. He has 5 patents and several book
chapters to his credit. He has been a reviewer for many reputable journals. He
obtained two PG diplomas from Annamalai University. His research fields are
cladding, composites, and nuclear materials. He is a Fellow as well as CEng. of
the Institution of Engineers. He is a member of ASME and ISTE.
Dr. Manoj Gupta is a Professor in the Materials Division of the Mechanical Engineering Department at NUS, Singapore. He completed his B.Eng. at VRCE-Nagpur in 1984 (First Class with Distinction) and M.Eng. at IISC- Bangalore in 1987 (Gold Medalist), obtained a Ph.D. from the University of California, Irvine, USA (1992), and completed his postdoctoral research at the University of Alberta, Canada (1992). In 2017, he was highlighted as one of the Top 1% of Scientists in the World by the Universal Scientific Education and Research Network and among the top 2.5% of scientists as per ResearchGate. His achievements include the Disintegrated Melt Deposition technique and the Hybrid Microwave Sintering technique to synthesize alloys/micro/nano-composites. He has published over 640 peer-reviewed journal papers and owns two US patents and 1 trade secret. His current h-index is 77 and his RG index is 48, with more than 21,500 citations. He has also co-authored eight books published by John Wiley, Springer, IOP-UK, and MRF–USA and edited many others. He is the Editor-in-Chief/Editor of 12 international peer-reviewed journals. In 2018, he was the International Agency for Standards and Ratings' World Academy Championship Winner in the area of Biomedical Sciences. He actively collaborates with researchers in Japan, France, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, China, the USA, and India as an invited researcher and as a visiting and chair professor. He is the founder of the start-up Magloy Tech in Singapore.
