Jie Liu holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering and technology from Yanshan University and a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from Tianjin University. Currently, he is an associate professor at the School of Chemical Engineering and Technology, Hebei University of Technology. He was a postdoctoral fellow at Hebei University of Technology (2015–2017) and a visiting scholar at the University of Waterloo (2019–2020). He is also a member of the Youth Expert Committee of the Seawater Desalination and Water Reuse Branch of the Chinese Society for Oceanography. His main research areas include membrane preparation and membrane separation technology, water treatment, zero wastewater discharge and resource utilization, seawater desalination and chemical resource utilization, and multi-scale enhanced membrane absorption flue gas desulfurization technology.
