Cristina Cabaleiro is an assistant professor in the Department of Plant Production at the University of Santiago de Compostela, teaching various subjects related to plant health in the Agricultural Engineering course at Campus Terra in Lugo (Spain). She obtained a degree in Agricultural Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM); an MSc in Protected Crops from the International Center for Advanced Studies on Mediterranean Agriculture (ICAMAS/CIHEAM) in the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Chania (Greece), and a PhD from the Department of Biotechnology of the UPM. Her main lines of research focus on crop protection, particularly plant virology and the epidemiology of grapevine and potato viruses. She is a member of the Spanish Society of Phytopathology (SEF), the Spanish Society of Applied Entomology (SEEA), and the International Council for the Study of Virus and Virus-like Diseases of the Grapevine (ICVG).
