Prof. Christine Von Armin currently serves as Full Professor and Director in the Department of Geriatrics at the Universitätsmedizin Göttingen. From 2003 to 2005, she worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at MassGeneral Institute for Neurodegenerative Disease, Harvard Medical School, then she worked as a full group leader and senior consultant (2005-2018), and a professor (2008-2019) in the Department of Neurology at the Universitätsklinikum Ulm (University Hospital Ulm). Her research interests mainly include Amyloid beta-Protein Precursor, neurodegenerative diseases, neurodegeneration, dementia, neurogeriatrics, and heart and brain.
Dr. Albert C. Ludolph was formerly head of the department at the Department of Neurology at the University of Ulm. He is also an acting Director of the Academic Neuroscience Centre of the University of Ulm. In 2014, he worked as a Delegate of the German Society of Neurology at the World Federation of Neurology, and then as an elected Speaker in the Clinical Neurosciences Neurowissenschaftliche Gesellschaft (German Society of Neuroscience) (2015-2017). He was the Deputy Chair and Chair elected Neurowissenschaftliche Gesellschaft (German Society of Neuroscience) (2017-2021). Additionally, he is the Chair of the Scientific Advisory Board Thierry Latran Foundation. His research focuses on models for ALS, both naturally occurring and animal models, clinical genetics, development of clinical care, and translational research including the development of new drugs for ALS and other orphan neurological diseases.
