Bin Yu is a professor at the School of Life Sciences at Jilin University. He received his bachelor’s and doctorate degrees from Jilin University. He completed his postdoctoral work at the Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He was a visiting scholar at the Institute of Molecular Life Sciences, University of Zurich. He was a lecturer at the School of Life Sciences of Jilin University from 2012 to 2014. He was an associate professor at the School of Life Sciences of Jilin University from 2014 to 2019. He is now a professor of Microbiology at the School of Life Sciences of Jilin University.He is a member of the 10th Youth Committee of the Medical Virology Branch of the Chinese Medical Association. He has won one first prize (ranking 9) and one second prize (ranking 2) in the Jilin Provincial Science and Technology Award.
Dr. Xianghui Yu is the Dean of the School of Life Sciences at Jilin University. She received a Ph.D. in biochemistry and molecular biology from Jilin University in 2004. Her research interests include the mechanisms of interactions between HIV-1 and host restriction factors and the development of novel antiviral inhibitors. She also engages in the preclinical research of novel AIDS vaccines. She is the project leader of many national and provincial research projects and has been awarded many honorary titles, including the “Award Nomination of Chinese Young Female Scientist”, “New Century Excellent Talents of Chinese Education Ministry”, “Changbai Mountain Scholar of Jilin Province”, “Outstanding Innovative Talents of Jilin Province”, and “‘Tang Aoqing’ Professor of Jilin University”.
