Maurizio Iacobone is the head of the Endocrine Surgery Unit at the Padua University Hospital (Italy) and Professor of Surgery at Padua University Medical School (Italy). He was trained in General Surgery at the University of Bari (Italy) and completed the Endocrine Surgery Fellowship at the Marseilles University Hospital (France). He is a Fellow of the European Board of Surgery–Endocrine Surgery Section (FEBS), and he obtained a Diploma in Endocrine and Metabolic Surgery at Lyon University (France). He was vice president of the Francophone Association of Endocrine Surgery (AFCE), vice president of the Italian Unitary Society of Endocrine Surgeons (SIUEC), and Secretary of the European Society of Endocrine Surgeons (ESES). His research topics mainly include endocrine surgery, thyroid surgery, adrenal surgery, parathyroid surgery, hereditary endocrine tumors, and minimally invasive surgery.
