CRISTINA M. QUINTELLA, a Full Professor at the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA) in the Chemistry Institute, holds a DPhil in Molecular Sciences from the University of Sussex (1993), a partially completed doctorate in Petroleum Geophysics at UFBA (1990), a Master's degree in Physical Chemistry (1985), and a Bachelor's degree in Physics from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1983). She possesses expertise in enhanced oil recovery (EOR), bioremediation, interdisciplinary subjects, technology assessment, intellectual property, and technological innovation. She is the leading author of numerous articles and the leading inventor of over 50 patents in the areas of energy, bioremediation, enhanced oil recovery, biotechnology, control of biogenic hydrogen sulfide gas production, and laboratory equipment. She created UFBA's Technology Transfer Office, was the founding National Coordinator of the Brazilian Postgraduate Program in Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer for Innovation (PROFNIT) from 2016 to 2020, and presided over the Brazilian National Forum of Innovation and Technology Transfer Managers from 2014 to 2019.
PAMELA DIAS RODRIGUES holds a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry (2010), a Master's degree in Physical Chemistry (2013), and a PhD in Analytical Chemistry (2018) from the Federal University of
Bahia. She is currently undertaking a post-doctoral internship in the Postgraduate Program in Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer for Innovation (PROFNIT) on a project funded by GALP. She has over 15 years of experience in building equipment for determining recovery factors, developing advanced oil recovery fluids, conducting physical-chemical characterization of oil and recovery fluids, and applying oil recovery methods.
JORGE LUÍS NICOLETI is a Professor in the Department of Biotechnology at the Institute of Health
Sciences, Federal University of Bahia (UFBA), Salvador, BA, Brazil. He holds a PhD in Biotechnology from UFBA (2022), a Master's degree in Applied Microbiology from Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (UNESP) (2002), and a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from the State University
of Londrina (UEL) (1994). He has experience in Organic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Analytical Methods, enzymatic production of biodiesel, fungal biodegradation of PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride), and sustainable smart water design for advanced oil recovery in carbonate reservoirs.
ELIAS RAMOS-DE-SOUZA is the director and researcher of the academic spinoff MosaicoFluido. He holds a PhD in Biophysics from UFRJ (1999), a Master's degree in Physics from UFBA (1992), and
a Bachelor's degree in Physics from UFBA (1982). He is a senior professor at the Federal Institute of Bahia (IFBA). He has expertise in molecular biophysics and computational modeling of biological systems as well as in public science, technology, and innovation policies. He has published articles and filed
patents in the areas of energy, biotechnology, advanced oil recovery, control of biogenic hydrogen sulfide gas production, adhesion of cells and vesicles, knowledge management, intellectual property, and technological innovation. He served two terms as Director of Innovation at FINEP - Financier of Studies and Projects (2015–16 and 2022–present), Superintendent of Research and Technological Development at ANP - National Agency for Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (2011–2015), and Director of Innovation at FAPESB - Fundação de Support for Research in the State of Bahia (2007–2011).
EDGARD BACIC DE CARVALHO is a Professor at the Federal Institute of Education, Science, and Technology of Bahia. He holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from the Federal University of
Bahia (1981), a specialization in Petrochemical Processing (1981), and a Master's and PhD in Chemical Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University (1999). He has experience in Chemical Engineering, specifically in petrochemical processes and natural gas processing. He also works in fermentation, biological treatment of effluents, and oil wettability.
SAMIRA ABDALLAH HANNA is a Full Professor in the Department of Biointeraction at the Institute of Health Sciences, Federal University of Bahia (UFBA). She holds a PhD in Tropical Medicine (2001), a Master's degree in Applied Microbiology (1996), and a degree in Biochemical Pharmacy from Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (UNESP) (1993). She possesses expertise in tropical diseases, applied microbiology, medical and environmental mycology, fungal bioprospecting,
microbial bioactives in agriculture and industrial waste and co-products, and bioenergy. At UFBA, she served as coordinator of the Biotechnology Course and as coordinator of the Brazilian Postgraduate Program in Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer for Innovation (PROFNIT).
