Dr. Ana L. Pires received her Master of Biomedical Materials and Devices in 2012 at the University of Aveiro and completed her PhD at Física e Astronomia da Universidade do Porto in 2019. She now works as a Researcher at IFIMUP/FCUP. She was the WP Leader of the EIC-Pathfinder Project and did research on Magnetocaloric Materials at CFNUL (University of Lisbon Nuclear Physics Center) in close collaboration with the IFIMUP (Institute of Physics of Materials of the University of Porto). Her research interests mainly include ferrite nanoparticles and polymers.
Prof. Andre Pereira completed his PhD in physics from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto (FCUP) in 2010. He currently serves as an assistant professor at the Department of Physics and Astronomy of FCUP, an assistant researcher at the Institute of Material Physics of the University of Porto (IFIMUP) and a visiting academic member of the Imperial College of London, UK. He is a member of the IFIMUP scientific committee and a member of the evaluation committee of the Integrated Masters in Physical Engineering at DFA-FCUP. His research interests include the magnetocaloric and magnetostructural effects.
