Nicole MJ Boisvert, BSc, is a graduate student working towards her Master of Science in kinesiology, with a specialization in exercise and health physiology, at the University of Calgary. She is studying female bone health across adulthood, using mother–daughter pairs to investigate the influence of familial resemblance and lifestyle on bone health.
Melissa R McElroy, BBS, BKin, is a third year student at NOSM University and working toward her MD. She has a strong interest in anesthesiology, pain management and patient advocacy. Before medicine, she studied kinesiology at the University of Calgary and completed her honors project on the prevalence of symptoms linked to the female athlete triad in Indigenous athletes. K. Alix Hayden, MLIS, MSc, PhD, is a health sciences librarian of Libraries and Cultural Resources at the University of Calgary. Alix is an expert in knowledge synthesis methodologies and has collaborated as a co-author on more than 60 systematic/scoping reviews with researchers and graduate students from various disciplines. She supported both the 5th (2016) and 6th (2022) Consensus Statements for Concussion in Sport. Dr. Patricia Katherine Doyle-Baker completed her training at Loma Linda University, School of Public Health (California, USA), as a doctor of public health (Dr PH) specializing in health education/epidemiology. She recieved her PhD in investigating exercise interventions in chronic disease with a patient population from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Calgary (Rheumatology). Prior to this, she graduated from the University of Victoria (Canada) with her master's in exercise physiology/sports science and a B.Sc. in human performance/biochemistry. Before joining the University of Calgary, Dr Doyle-Baker was co-owner of a rehabilitation clinic (Victoria, BC) and travelled extensively with national teams as a sports scientist/certified exercise physiologist (CSEP-CEP). She is a full professor in the Faculty of Kinesiology (currently Associate Dean of Grad) and an adjunct in the School of Architecture, Planning, and Landscape. She has pursued a research career in health biomarkers across different populations, with a focus on female athletes and the menstrual cycle, and continues to promote educational and research collaborations between the exercise sciences and medicine to promote health. She sits on the Editorial Board for Physiological Reports and has served on several boards, including as the Board Chair of West Island College, President of the Alberta Public Health Association and a Board Director of the Gray Family YMCA.
