Christian Vollmer is a Research Associate at the Institute of Mineralogy, University of Münster. He holds a diploma in Geology from the University of Cologne and finished a Ph.D. at the Max Planck Institute of Chemistry. His research covers the topics of mineralogy, petrology, cosmochemistry, and geology, with a special focus on high-spatial resolution investigations of terrestrial and extraterrestrial dust samples (SEM, TEM, NanoSIMS). Furthermore, he is a part of the German Mineralogical Society, the Meteoritical Society, the European Microscopy Society, and the German Society for Electron Microscopy.
Bodo Philipp is a Full Professor of Microbial Biotechnology and Ecology at the Institute of Molecular Microbiology and Biotechnology, University of Münster since 2011. He studied General Biology at the University of Osnabrück and the Research Center Juelich (Institute of Biotechnology) from 1990 to 1995 and then earned a Ph.D. in Microbial Physiology and Ecology at the University of Konstanz from 1995 to 1999. Later, he was a Postdoc at the University of Konstanz (environmental sciences) and the University of Nottingham (molecular microbiology) in 1999 and 2000 and 2000 and 2001, respectively. From 2001-2011 he was independent group leader at the University of Konstanz. Bodo Philipp’s research interests include microbial biotechnology and ecology, bacterial metabolism, and chemical interactions of microbes.
