Prof. Dr. Yajun Sun, Ph.D., is a professor and a doctoral supervisor at the School of Resources and Geosciences, China University of Mining and Technology, Xuzhou, China. He is the Vice Chairman of the Professional Committee on Mine Water Prevention and Utilization of the Chinese Geological Society, Secretary General of the National Committee of the International Mine Water Association (IMWA) in China, Member of the Water Hazard Prevention and Control Committee of the Chinese Coal Industry Safety Science and Technology Society, Member of the Water Prevention and Control Professional Committee of the Coal Industry Technology Committee, Winner of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, and Head of National Key R&D Projects. He mainly engages in research and teaching work on mine hydrogeology, coal mine water hazard prevention and control, and mine water pollution prevention and control. He has received 14 national and provincial level scientific and technological progress awards, including 1 second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award and 4 first prizes, 2 second prizes, and 7 third prizes at the provincial and ministerial levels.
