Author Biographies

Dr. Hala Sirror is currently working as an assistant professor at the College of Architecture and Design at Prince Sultan University. She is a member of the research committee at the department level and the chair of the competition committee. Previously, she held several positions, including chair of the strategic planning committee from 2020 to 2024, associate chair of the architecture department at Prince Sultan University from 2020 to 2021, chair of the architecture department at National Ribat University in 2015, and master's program coordinator from 2009 to 2010. She earned, from the University of Khartoum in Khartoum, Sudan, a BS in Architecture (1996), an MSc in Environmental Studies (2002), and a PhD in Architecture (2014). Dr. Hala has worked in the higher education field since 2002 for more than 22 years, preceded by six years of professional practice. She is a member of several professional societies. She is a member of the US Green Building Council, a LEED-accredited professional in Design and Construction, a member of the US Green Building Council Faculty, and a senior fellow of the Higher Education Academy in the UK. Dr. Hala received the best paper award at the International Conference for Sustainability, Development, and Innovation held in Riyadh in 2022. Her research interests include sustainability, design, and education.
