Dr. Wenxue Lin is an Assistant Professor of instruction in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the College of Public Health, Temple University, USA. He obtained his B.S. in biotechnology from Dalian Medical University, China, in 2014; his M.S. in epidemiology from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in 2019; and his Ph.D. in epidemiology from the Pennsylvania State
University College of Medicine in 2022. Dr. Lin’s research focuses on tobacco control and nicotine-reduced cigarettes. He examined two randomized controlled trials of reduced nicotine content cigarettes to address tobacco-related health disparities in smokers with low socioeconomic status (SES) and mental health conditions (mood and/or anxiety disorders). He investigated the effects of nicotine-reduced cigarettes on smoking behavior and biomarkers of tobacco exposure. In addition to conducting tobacco-related research, Dr. Lin analyzed several epidemiologic datasets, including the Population Assessment of Tobacco and Health (PATH), Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS), Health Information National Trends Survey (HINTS), and the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES).
Dr Hani A. Alfheeaid is an Associate Professor at Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition, College of Agriculture and Food, Qassim University. He completed his PhD studies in Clinical Nutrition at the University of Glasgow. He has been appointed as an honorary clinical research fellow of the Glasgow University Medical School. He is also a registered and licensed clinical nutrition consultant (RD/LD) at Qassim University Medical City. His teaching disciplines include clinical nutrition, dietetics, diabetes, nutritional status, diet planning, and metabolic disorders. His research topics mainly include energy balance, therapeutic functions of foods and dietary ingredients, and dietary and lifestyle interventions for the treatment and management of diabetes and obesity-related chronic conditions.
