Haiyan Li is currently working toward a Ph.D. degree in Pest and Environmental Safety from Shenyang Agricultural University, Shenyang, China. She is currently an associate professor with the College of Environmental and Safety Engineering, Shenyang University of Chemical Technology, Shenyang, China. Her research interests include isolation of active secondary metabolites from microorganisms, molecular targets and mechanisms of action of natural products, and optimization of fermentation process.

Jingzhuo Hou received a B.S. degree in food science and engineering from Jiangnan University, Wuxi, China, in 2023. She is currently working toward an M.S. degree in biochemical engineering from Shenyang University of Chemical Technology, Shenyang, China. Her research interests include microbial natural products, molecular targets and mechanisms of action of natural products and C1 gas bioconversion.

Bing Li received an M.S. degree in biochemical engineering from Shenyang University of Chemical Technology, Shenyang, China, in 2023. She is a research assistant with Technical Support Department, Yither Biotech Co. Ltd., Shanghai, China. Her research interests include isolation of active secondary metabolites from microorganisms and vaccine development.

Lizhong Zhang received a Ph.D. degree in bioinformatics technology from Northeastern University, Shenyang, China, in 2023. He is currently a lecturer with the College of Computer Science and Technology, Shenyang University of Chemical Technology, Shenyang, China. His research interests include intelligent information processing, optimization theory and algorithm design, and bioinformatics.

Zhiguo Yu received a Ph.D. degree in pharmaceutical analysis from Shenyang Pharmaceutical University, Shenyang, China, in 2005. After three additional years as a postdoctoral research associate at Nanjing University (Nanjing, China), he joined the faculty of School of Pharmacy, University of Wisconsin-Madison, as a research associate. He moved to Scripps Research (Florida, America) as a research associate in 2010. Since 2012, he has been a professor in the College of Plant Protection at Shenyang Agricultural University, China. His research interest is focused on the discovery of bioactive molecules from the secondary metabolites produced by microorganisms.
