Prof. Dr. Martina Ziefle is a professor of communication
science and one of the directors of the interdisciplinary Human-Computer
Interaction Center at RWTH Aachen University in Germany. Martina Ziefle studied
psychology at the universities of Göttingen and Würzburg. At the University of
Fribourg, Switzerland, Martina Ziefle received her doctorate with summa cum
laude. Martina Ziefle's research focuses on the interaction and communication
between humans and technology, considering different usage contexts and users’
needs. Also, the requirements for technology acceptance are studied, along with the
diverse perceived benefits and barriers of technology usage. Especially in the
sensitive area of medical technologies, user diversity and technology
acceptance play a decisive role. Beyond teaching and research tasks, Martina
Ziefle is involved in several third-party-funded projects of public and
industrial sponsors, which deal with the topics of communication and
interaction between humans and technology, technology acceptance, and user
diversity.
