Wensheng Wang is a researcher at the Institute of Crop
Sciences, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. He studied for his bachelor's
degree in agronomy (1999–2003) and his master's degree in
crop genetic breeding (2003–2006) at the Agricultural University of Hebei. He
received his Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the
Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences in 2011. His
research direction mainly focuses on genomic analysis of rice germplasm
resources, mining of resistance-related genes, functional validation, and
molecular breeding.
Prof. Jianlong Xu received his B.S. and M.S. from Zhejiang Agricultural University in 1987 and 1990, respectively, and obtained his Ph.D. at Zhejiang University in 2001. He worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the International Rice Research Institute, Philippines from 2002 to 2003. He is currently a Senior Scientist at the Center for Crop Genomics & Molecular Design, Institute of Crop Sciences, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. His research directions include deep mining, cloning and genome-wide design of rice germplasm resources for high yield, stress tolerance, efficient nutrient utilization, and disease resistance, as well as other genes for polymerization and breeding research.
Fan Zhang earned, from Shenyang Agricultural University, his bachelor's and master's degrees in 2004 and 2007, respectively. He obtained his Ph.D. at the Institute of Crop Sciences, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, in 2012. He subsequently joined the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences in July 2012. He is currently an associate researcher at the Center for Crop Genomics & Molecular Design. His research focuses on the genomic genetic diversity of rice germplasm resources and the identification and functional characterization of genes for abiotic stress tolerance in rice.
