Prof. Dr. Ana C.
Franco has a degree in Veterinary Medicine (1992), a master’s degree in
Veterinary Medicine (1995) and a doctorate in Veterinary Sciences from the
Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (2001). From 2002–2004, she was a
Capes/UFRGS Pro-Doctoral Fellow at Desidério Finamor Veterinary Research
Center. From 2004–2005, she served as an Assistant Professor at the Federal
University of Pelotas. She was a Visiting Professor at the State University of
Campinas (UNICAMP), from 2017–2018. She is currently a full Professor at the
Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul. She has experience in the area of
Veterinary Medicine, with an emphasis on Infectious Diseases of Animals,
working mainly on the following topics: bovine herpesviruses, circoviruses,
development of differential and recombinant vaccines and testing of virological
diagnosis, viral pathogenesis studies and identification of emerging viruses.
