Dr. Huigang Shen is an Assistant Scientist II at Iowa State University. He obtained his M.S. in Epidemiology and Preventive Veterinary Medicine (Veterinary Pathology) from Yangzhou University in 1998 and his Ph.D. in Microbiology from the Department of Veterinary Medicine, the College of Animal Science, Zhejiang University, in 2005. Subsequently, he served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Iowa State University from 2008 to 2011 and at Kansas State University from 2011 to 2013. Then, he was appointed as a Teacher and Researcher at the Zhejiang Agricultural and Forestry University from 2013 to 2015. He taught “Veterinary Pathology” to undergraduate students and “Advances in Modern Biology” to postgraduate students and developed molecular diagnostic methods for viral pathogens responsible for swine diarrhea.
