Georgios Papagiannis completed his Bachelor's of Science in Physical Therapy in 2005 at the Technological Educational Institution of Athens, Greece. His graduate work at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, United Kingdom centered in the area of Rehabilitation Biomechanics, where he was granted the title Master of Science in Applied Biomechanics (2007). At Karolinska Institutet, he concentrated on the postgraduate education of neuroscience (2008). He has completed his PhD studies in Orthopaedics at the faculty of medicine, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA), Greece (2017) as well as post-doctoral research in spine biomechanics and sensor technology applications in rehabilitation sciences (2018–2021) in the same department. Since November 2011, he has served as a Scientific Consultant in the biomechanics and gait analysis laboratory “Sylvia Ioannou” (1st Department of Orthopaedics-NKUA), where he teaches at the Master's of Science program “Health and Exercise”. In 2021, he was elected Assistant Professor and then Director of the Biomechanics Research Laboratory at the Physiotherapy Department of the University of Peloponnese. His research and clinical interests focus on the biomechanics and applications of medical sensor devices in rehabilitation. He also serves as an invited reviewer and as a member of the editorial board of more than ten scientific journals.
Athanasios Triantafyllou is an Assistant professor at the Department of Physiotherapy, University of Peloponnese, Sparta, Peloponnese, Greece. He completed his Bachelor's of Science in Physical Therapy in 2005. His graduate work at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Trondheim, Norway centered on the area of Exercise Physiology and Sports Sciences, and there he was also granted the title Master of Science (2008). He obtained his PhD in Orthopaedics at the Faculty of Medicine, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA), Greece. Since November 2011, he has served as a Scientific Consultant in the biomechanics and gait analysis laboratory “Sylvia Ioannou”,(NKUA) where he also teaches at the MSc program “Exercise and Health”. He is an experienced physiotherapist, skilled in Physical Therapy, Clinical Research, Orthopedics, and Biomechanics.
Panayiotis Papagelopoulos received his Medical Degree with honors from the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens' School of Medicine. He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery in Athens and received his PhD at Athens University Medical School in 1990. Following fellowships in orthopedic oncology, adult reconstruction, and spine surgery at the Mayo Graduate School in Rochester, Minnesota, USA from 1991 to 1994, he was appointed as an Associate Consultant and Assistant Professor at the Mayo Clinic Department of Orthopedics and Mayo Medical School. In 2003, he joined the faculty of the First Department of Orthopaedic Surgery of the Athens University Medical School. Since 2011, he has been Professor and Chairman of Orthopaedic Surgery at Athens University Medical School and Director of the Orthopedic Research & Education Center “Panayotis N. Soucacos” at the ATTIKON University General Hospital in Greece. He is the founder and Director of the Athens University Musculoskeletal Tumor Center. He is also the Director of three postgraduate MSc programs at Athens University. He is currently the President-Elect of the International Society for Limb Salvage (ISOLS) and he is also the President of the Hellenic Association of Orthopaedic Surgery & Traumatology (HAOST).
