Prof. Luling An is a professor at the Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. He graduated from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics in 1982 with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Design; graduated from Shandong University of Technology in 1985 with a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering; and graduated from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics in 2001 with a Doctorate in Aerospace Manufacturing Engineering. From 1985 to 1997, he taught at Shandong Mining Institute (now Shandong University of Science and Technology); from 2001 to present, he has been an Associate Professor and Professor at the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering of Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics. His research areas include digital design and manufacturing, rapid tooling design, and aircraft assembly technology. He has published more than 100 papers, obtained two authorized invention patents, and won one second prize in national teaching achievements, and five second prizes and one third prize in provincial and ministerial science and technology progress.
