Dr. Zongxian Zhang is a Professor of Mining Engineering at Oulu Mining School, University of Oulu, Finland. His research deals with mining methods, rock blasting, rock drilling, rock fracture, mechanical rock excavation, stress waves in rock, rock fragmentation, sublevel caving, rock support, vibration control, etc. His publications include 3 books and 140 articles. He is currently a Member of the Fragblast International Organizing Committee (FIOC); the Rock Dynamics Commission member of ISRM (International Society of Rock Mechanics), and an Editorial board member of the International Journal of Rock Mechanics and Mining Sciences.
Prof. Junsheng Yang received his bachelor's degree at Xiangtan Mining Institute (now Hunan University of Science and Technology) in 1990 and his master’s degree at Anhui University of Science and Technology in 1993. He completed his PhD studies at Central South University in 1996. He conducted his postdoctoral training at Hunan University from 1996 to 2000. He was a Visiting Scholar at Pennsylvania State University (2001–2002) and TU Bergakademie Freiberg (2014). He has been a Professor at the School of Civil Engineering, Central South University since 2003. His research interests include the impact assessment and risk control of structures immediately adjacent to tunnels, dynamic informatization of tunnel and underground work construction, construction mechanics and the risk assessment of tunnels and underground works, remediation of tunnel diseases and quality defects shield construction technology, fundamentals of geotechnics, and grouting and reinforcement technology for underground works.
