Chen Tan has been a Professor at the College of Veterinary Medicine at Huazhong Agricultural
University since 2018. He also serves as the Vice Chairman and Secretary
General of the Swine Veterinary Branch of the Chinese Veterinary Medical Association
and the Vice Director of the Hubei Preventive Veterinary Medicine Key
Laboratory. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Animal Medicine and Ph.D. in Preventive
Veterinary Medicine, both from Huazhong Agricultural University. After
completing his Ph.D. studies, he became a Lecturer at the same university in
2010 and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2013. His main research areas
include the etiology and epidemiology of important swine epidemics and pathogenesis
and immunogenesis of bacterial pathogenic microorganisms in animals.
