Prof. Dr. Ajay K. Banga is a Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences, Mercer University (Atlanta, GA, USA). He completed a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutics from Rutgers University. He has served as a consultant to over 25 companies in the area of his research expertise. Currently, he serves as Department Chair and as Endowed Chair in transdermal delivery systems and has been awarded the Distinguished Educator Award and Research Award. He is also a Fellow of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS). He works on the Editorial Board of 11 journals and has served as the Editor-in-Chief for a drug delivery journal. He focuses on skin delivery systems. Such systems include traditional transdermal patches, and dermatological, and non-traditional delivery approaches, such as microneedles and iontophoresis, for the delivery of small conventional drugs, macromolecules, and cosmetic actives.
