Dr. Marianna Karwacka, MSc, is a researcher of Genome Engineering at the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences, where she is now pursuing her PhD. She graduated from the Poznan University of Medical Sciences with an MSc in Medical Biotechnology. She is conducting a project titled “The influence of CAG tract length polymorphism on the pathogenesis of neoplastic diseases" as a principal investigator.
Dr. Tomasz Kolenda is a Researcher at the Laboratory of Cancer Genetics, Greater Poland Cancer Center, where he received his PhD. He is a member of the editorial board of Acta Biochimica Polonica Journal and Reports of Practical Oncology and Radiotherapy Journal. He was a Researcher and Lecturer in the Department of Cancer Immunology and chair of Medical Biotechnology at the Poznan University of Medical Sciences. His research interests include RNA, Gene Expression, Sequencing, PCR, Cell Culture, Cancer Biology, DNA, Molecular Genetics, RNA Extraction, and RNA Isolation.
Prof. Dr. Andrzej Mackiewicz is a Head of the Department of Medical Biotechnology at the Medical University of Warsaw, a Head of the Department of Cancer Diagnostics and Immunology at the Wielkopolska Oncology Center, and a Member of the CNBM Council and the Scientific Council. He manages the Medical Biotechnology program at the Faculty of Medicine and is a regional consultant in clinical immunology. He established the biotechnology company BioContract Sp z o.o.—a spin-off of the Medical University of Poznań—in which a technological line was created for the aseptic production of medicinal products based on somatic cells. His main areas of research interest are medical biotechnology, cancer diagnostics, immunology, and, in particular, the bioengineering of silk protein as a carrier of peptides that specifically recognize the tumor microenvironment.
