Dr. Roberto Vazquez-Padron is a Tenured Professor of Surgery at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and a Senior Research Scientist at the Miami VA. He received his Ph.D. in Biology from the University of Havana in 1999. He obtained his M.S. degree in Biochemistry in 1993. He completed his Post Graduate Training in 2003 at the Univeristy of Miami. Dr. Vazquez-Padron was additionally selected as one of the Latin-American Talent Young Investigators by the Brazilian Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. His current research focuses on the translation of novel anti-inflammatory and anti-fibrotic mechanisms that pave the way for future therapies targeting the prevention and treatment of vascular diseases.
