Dr. Mehran Behazin received her Master's degree in Physical Chemistry at the K.N.T University of Technology in 2007 and obtained her Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Physical Chemistry at the Western University in 2014. She has been employed as a Corrosion Scientist at the Nuclear Waste Management Organization since 2017. Her research interests include nuclear, nuclear waste and long-term management of used nuclear fuel.
Peter Keech is the Manager Engineered Barrier Science at Nuclear Waste Management Organization. He received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Chemistry from the University of Guelph in 1999 and 2001, respectively, earned a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Calgary in 2005, and was a Postdoctoral Fellow in Corrosion at The University of Western Ontario (2006–2008). He does research on the engineered barriers used for the long-term storage of nuclear waste.
