Prof. Dr. Zhenguo Nie holds a position as an assistant researcher and is currently working at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Tsinghua University, Beijing, China. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering from the School of Materials Science and Engineering of Shandong University and a Master of Engineering and Ph.D. from the Department of Mechanical Engineering of Tsinghua University. He was a visiting scholar at the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Case Western Reserve University. He is a postdoctoral fellow at the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology, USA. He was a postdoctoral researcher and lecturer at the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University. His research directions are mainly the comprehensive application of artificial intelligence in mechanical engineering, structural optimization and life cycle management of robots, topology optimization, and process modeling in additive manufacturing. He is a reviewer for the Journal of Manufacturing Processes, Computer-Aided Design, and other journals.
Prof. Dr. Zheng is a full professor at the Department of Industrial Engineering, Tsinghua University, Beijing, China. His research interests include production and operation planning and scheduling, production system analysis, and information-driven manufacturing. He won several important awards, such as the National Science and Technology Progress Award in 2005, the National Invention Award in 1990, and the Excellence Young Faculty Award from MOE in 2000. Dr. Zheng is a member of the Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE) and founding chair of IIE, China Chapter.
