Marian Kampik received the M.Sc., Ph.D., and Habilitation Doctorate (D.Sc.) degrees from the Silesian University of Technology, Gliwice, Poland, in 1988, 1996, and 2010, respectively, all in electrical engineering. In 2017, the President of Poland awarded him the title of professor of technical sciences. He has been with the Department of Measurement Science, Electronics, and Control, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Silesian University of Technology since 1988, where he became a University Professor in 2010, the Director of the Institute in 2012, and the Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in 2020. His current research interests include AC voltage and current standards, thermal converters, digital signal synthesis, and precision impedance measurements. Dr. Kampik was the recipient of the Siemens Prize (team) in 2003, the Research Excellence Grant granted by the European Research Metrology Programme in 2013, and two scholarships granted by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) in 1993–1995 and 1999. In 2020, he was the recipient of the IEEE Gold Medal as the most-published author in the past 7 years from Poland and one of the top 70 most-published authors in the past 7 years.
