Dr. Yichao Yu is an Associate Director in Translational Medicine and Clinical Pharmacology at Boehringer Ingelheim. She obtained both her Ph.D. degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences (under the supervision of Dr.
Hartmut Derendorf) and master’s degree in Statistics from the University of Florida (UF). During her studies, she also gained experience as an ORISE Fellow in the Office of Clinical Pharmacology at the US Food and Drug Administration. Her doctoral research focused on potential impact of microgravity on pharmacokinetics and/or pharmacodynamics (PK/PD) of medications used by astronauts, the intraoperative tissue penetration of cefazolin during pediatric spinal surgery, and evaluation of dosing strategy in end-stage renal disease patients receiving hemodialysis using the PK/PD approach. After graduation, she stayed at UF and worked as a Clinical Assistant Professor for two years before she joined Boehringer. In her current role as a Clinical Pharmacologist lead at Boehringer, she supports multiple programs with Phase I, II and III clinical trials in the inflammation therapeutic area. Dr. Yu is a member of the American College of Clinical Pharmacology (ACCP) and serves as Early-stage Professionals Committee member within the ACCP. She has more than 20 peer-reviewed publications (including two book chapters) and serves as a peer reviewer for several high-impact medical and pharmaceutical journals.
Christoph N. Seubert MD PhD DABNM is a Professor of Anesthesiology and Neurosurgery at the University of Florida, where he specializes in intraoperative neurophysiologic monitoring as well as anesthesia care of adult and pediatric patients undergoing brain and spine surgeries. His research interests include neurodevelopmental and intergenerational effects of anesthetics, applied pharmacology, intraoperative neurophysiology and process improvements related to perioperative care. His research has been funded by the National institutes of Health, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration and private foundations. He has authored more than 70 peer-reviewed publications, 15 book chapters, and has edited a book on intraoperative neurophysiologic monitoring. He serves as a scientific member of the Institutional Review Board and as reviewer for more than 20 different journals.
