Emmanuel F. Koku, PhD is an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology at Drexel University, Philadelphia. He holds a PhD in Sociology from the University of Toronto, Canada. His research and teaching interests are in social network analysis, global health, medical sociology, development sociology, and quantitative methods. His current research focuses on determinants of HIV risk and protective behaviors in African and its diaspora populations, social networks, the lived-experiences of persons living with HIV, as well as the social and structural dynamics of learning and knowledge networks. Findings from some of these studies have already been disseminated in outlets such as Journal of Community Health, Sexual Health, AIDS & Behavior, Journal of Health Care for the Poor and Underserved, Journal of Medical Internet Research, Qualitative Health Research, and Journal of Racial and Ethnic Health Disparities.
