Dr. Ahmad Abd Rabuh is an Assistant Professor in Business Analytics in the Analytics, Information Systems and Operations (AISO) department at Oxford Brookes University in the UK. Dr. Abd Rabuh holds a PhD in Financial Inclusion using AI from the University of Portsmouth, which was completed in November 2020. He completed an MBA with concentration on Business Analytics from Qatar University in 2016. Also, he holds a BSc in Economics. Before joining academia, he worked in the banking and finance sector in large banks and financial institutions such as HSBC and Experian.
Dr. Abd Rabuh's research interests are using AI for social good, ICT for resilience and sustainable development as well as the Digital Economies.
Professor Richard M. Teeuw, a geomorphologist and remote sensing scientist, is a professor of geoinformatics and disaster risk reduction at the Centre for Applied Geoscience, University of Portsmouth. He developed and managed the MSc in Crisis and Disaster Management at the University of Portsmouth, working with practitioners to develop their SimEx disaster response simulation exercise, which is now one of the largest annual exercises in the world. After gaining a BSc in geology and geography at Nottingham University, his career started at Stirling University with PhD research examining the geomorphology of the Sierra Leone diamond fields. Recently, he has been working on projects involving the UK Satellite Applications Catapult: applying remote sensing to detection of illicit gold mining in Colombia and climate change adaptation applications for small island states, in conjunction with the United Nations Institute of Training and Research (UNITAR).
Dr. Doyle Ray Oakey holds a PhD in sociology (2004) and an MSc in anthropology (1993) from Ohio State University. He is the managing principal of Primer Sol Consultancy and Parametrica.ai InsureTech. He has extensive experience in the insurance and financial services sectors and has worked with many prominent firms, such as LIMRA, GridMarkets, and CoverGo. Prior to 1995, he worked as a an adjunct professor and research associate for Ohio State University, Franklin University, and Ohio Northern University.
Dr. Athanasios V. Argyriou is an assistant researcher at the Institute of Mediterranean Studies (IMS)—FORTH. He was granted his PhD from the University of Portsmouth, UK, in 2012. His research focuses on geoinformatic applications (GIS/remote sensing/geophysics) on natural hazard assessment, geomorphometrics, land use and land cover changes, urban sprawl, preservation of cultural heritage, historical mapping, and archaeological landscapes. He has participated in various international and domestic projects, with his main interests focusing on (a) Earth and environmental sciences, (b) providing geo-information solutions in environmental sciences, disaster reduction from natural disasters, exploration of mineral resources and archaeological problems, and (c) the application of geophysical methods in the various aspects of his research interests.
