Author Biographies

Assoc. Prof. Joško Valentinčič, PhD has over 20 years of experience in research and development. He has been involved in the development of various solutions for monitoring and controlling machining processes, such as abrasive water jet cutting process, electrical discharge machining process, micro electric discharge milling. He used design of experiments methods, inductive machine learning and neural networks to accomplish these tasks. He was active in the field of design for manufacturing and developed a design adaptation system for features to be machined by die-sinking EDM in toolmaking (the application was programmed in Java). He is working on the development of ice-abrasive water jet technology, micro manufacturing, additive manufacturing including post-processing technologies. He organised more than ten international conferences and workshops on Management and Innovative Technologies. Currently, he is a research group leader and head of the Laboratory for Alternative Technologies, coordinator of the EU project Strengthening the excellence of additive manufacturing capabilities (SEAMAC), member of the steering committee of the Multidisciplinary Research and Development Centre for Micro Process Engineering and Technology at the University of Ljubljana (Slovenia), member of the executive committee of the International Institution for Micro Manufacturing (USA) and member of General Assembly of Elaphe Propulsion Technologies Ltd (Slovenia).
