Prof. Dr. Juliano De Dea Lindner graduated in Pharmacy and Biochemistry from Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Paraná (PUC-PR), received a master's degree in Food Safety Technology from the University of Parma (UNIPR - Italy), and a PhD in Food Science and Technology from the University of Parma (UNIPR - Italy). He was a Post-Doctorate in Agrifood Biotechnology in the Graduate Program in Bioprocess Engineering and Biotechnology from the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR). He is the Quality Controller in Parmalat Italia S.p.A., an Adjunct Professor at the State University of Santa Catarina (UDESC) in the Department of Food Engineering (2009-2010), and the Founder of Incorpora Foods Ltda (Brazil) and Nutriplus S.r.l. (Italy). He is currently an Associate Professor at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) at the Department of Food Science and Technology (CAL) and a Permanent Professor of Postgraduate Programs in Food Science (PPGCAL - UFSC) and Biotechnology and Biosciences (PPGBTC - UFSC). He is a Member of the International Dairy Federation (FIL-IDF) in the International Committee on Microbiological Hygiene, and a food industry consultant in process and technology development with over 80 SKUs currently on the world market.
Prof. Dr. Maria Giovana Binder Pagnoncelli has a degree in Pharmacy and Biochemistry (1998) and a specialization in Clinical Microbiology (1999) from the Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná, a master's degree in Food Technology from the Federal University of Paraná (2002), and a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (2008) with a thesis defended in the area of processes in Food and Biotechnology. She was a Professor at the Department of Pharmacy at UFRN between 2005 and 2015 and at the Department of Biotechnology and Bioprocess Engineering at UTFPR between 2015 and 2018. She is currently an Associate Professor at the Department of Chemistry and Biology at the Federal Technological University of Paraná (UTFPR) and a permanent professor of the Postgraduate Program in Biotechnology at UTFPR. She has experience in the area of Food, Microbiology, and Biotechnological Processes.
Prof. Satinder Kaur Brar is a Professor and James and Joanne Love Chair in Environmental Engineering in the Department of Civil Engineering at York University. Her research is on the intersecting areas of environmental engineering and its impact on the overall well-being of the global community. She primarily works in the two converging fields of value-addition of wastes and removal of emerging contaminants. She has 20 years of research experience with an H-index of 60, is a member of the College of New Scholars, Artists and Scientists of the Royal Society of Canada and Cercle d’Excellence d’Université de Québec, and has published over 350 papers including review articles and edited book chapters. She has won several prestigious awards, including the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) State of the Art of Civil Engineering Award, the Rudolph Hering Medal the Water Environment Federation (WEF) Eddy Wastewater Principles/Processes Medal, and the University Research by American Academy of Environmental Engineers and Scientists.
Dr. Gilberto Vinícius de Melo Pereira serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Bioprocess Engineering and Biotechnology at the Federal University of Paraná, Brazil. Under his leadership, a group of dedicated researchers is delving into diverse projects centered around fermentation processes across multiple domains, such as cocoa, coffee, kefir, alcoholic beverages, functional beverages, vinegar, and indigenous beverages. His research portfolio encompasses a wide array of topics, including microbiome construction and simulation, advanced techniques for analyzing microbial diversity, microorganism selection for biotechnological applications, probiotics, and fermentation process engineering. Dr. Pereira also coordinates the undergraduate course in Bioprocess Engineering and Biotechnology at UFPR and is recognized as a distinguished Productivity Researcher by the Brazilian Ministry of Science and Technology. His significant contributions to the field are evident through numerous citations in academic databases and his recognition as a leading global researcher by Elsevier in 2023
