Professor Masafumi Unno is an internationally renowned organosilicon chemist; Director of the Organosilicon Research Center at Gunma University, Japan; a leader in the field of silsesquioxanes; and a high-end foreign expert. He completed his undergraduate, master's, and doctoral studies at the University of Tokyo from 1979 to 1988 and then undertook postdoctoral work at the University of Nevada and the California Institute of Technology. Since 1993, he has been conducting research in the field of organosilicon chemistry at Gunma University, Japan, and has published hundreds of papers in important chemical journals, such as Angewandte Chemie International Edition and the Journal of the American Chemical Society.
