Dr Daniel E. Martin is a Research Agricultural Engineer with the USDA-ARS’s Aerial Application Technology Research Unit in College Station, TX. After receiving an M.S. and Ph.D. from Louisiana State University in Biological and Agricultural Engineering, Dr Martin joined ARS with a focus on aerial application research. He has over 30 years’ experience conducting aerial pattern testing clinics as an Operation S.A.F.E. analyst and educator. His research efforts are focused on variable-rate aerial application, aerial electrostatic technologies, and remotely piloted aerial application systems research. He has authored or coauthored over 50 peer-reviewed articles related to aerial application technology, is a member of NAAA and ASABE as well as other professional organizations, and serves on several technical committees within professional societies.
