Dr. Shankar M Bakkannavar, is an Associate Professor at Kasturba Medical College, MAHE, India. He holds a MD in Forensic Medicine and Toxicology from Manipal University in 2009. He has delivered more than 100 guest lectures in many scientific gatherings. He has government sponsored funded projects to his credit. Dr. Bakkannavar has published 170 scientific papers. He has been awarded Best Oral and poster Presentations in Medical Conferences. He is the author of undergraduate book titled “Forensic Medicine and Toxicology, Practical manual” published by Elsevier. Dr. Bakkannavar is Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Karnataka Medico Legal Society since 2013, Associate editor of Indian Journal of Forensic and Community Medicine, Journal of Scientific Research in Allied Science and Manipal Journal of Medical Sciences, Reviewer of 15 national and international journals. He has received Outstanding reviewer award from Journal of Forensic and Legal Medicine consecutively for 3 year, also a member of World Academy of Medical Editors. Dr. Bakkannavar is a life member of many academic bodies like ·Karnataka medico-legal
society, South India Medicolegal Association, Academy of Indian Forensic Medicine, Asia Pacific Academy of Medical Toxicology, Indian Society of Forensic Odontology, Indian Society of Forensic Nursing etc., Indian Society of Toxicology, Indian Child Abuse, Neglect and Child Labour (ICANCL) Group, Member of International Association of Legal Medicine.
