Cristina Juan is a PhD student in Health Science at the University of Alcalá. She has participated in several qualitative and quantitative research studies on Neglected Tropical Diseases, focusing on stigma and mental health. She works at the Anesvad Foundation as part of the research team, collaborating with other partners to conduct investigations on skin-related Neglected Tropical Diseases. Additionally, she is a member of the epidemiological working group promoted by the WHO and other international partnerships.
Lourdes Lledó currently works at the Department of Biomedicine and Biotecnology, University of Alcalá. Lourdes conducts research on infectious diseases and epidemiology. Her current project is 'Epidemiology study of zoonoses.' Her other line of research is bacterial translocation and its impact on cirrhosis.
Miguel Torralba Gonzaléz is a professor at the Department of Medicine and Medical Specialities, University of Alcala. He completed his PhD and he has published 93 articles in various journals, and serves as the research project counselor at Guadalajara Hospital. His interests include HIV, HCV, HBV, tuberculosis, and sexually transmitted infections.
Jose Ramón Gómez Echevarria is the current Medical Director of Leprosy at the Sanatorium of Fontilles in Alicante, Spain. He is a specialist in chronic infectious diseases such as leprosy and Buruli ulcer. With over 35 years of experience as a health worker, he has primarily worked with Fontilles and Doctors of the World. He has worked in many countries, including Brazil, Angola, Ghana, Benin, and Ivory Coast. In addition, he participates in multiple research projects at Fontilles and has published articles related to leprosy and Buruli ulcer, such as the "Updated Manual on Leprology" and "Pediatric Dermatology in Rural Areas of the Tropics." He is also the director of the annual international courses on diseases of poverty, including leprosy, held at Fontilles.
Consuelo Giménez Pardo is a PhD in Biological Sciences, a specialist in parasitology, and has extensive experience in research as well as research projects. She has been publishing continuously in JCR international journals since 1992. She works at the University of Alcala (Madrid, Spain) and her research interests include biochemistry of parasites, tropical diseases, and vector-borne diseases.
