Author Biographies

Prof. Bernd Carsten Stahl is Professor of Critical Research in Technology at the School of Computer Science of the University of Nottingham. He received his PhD at the University Witten/Herdecke in 2002 and his DSc at De Montfort University in 2015. Between 2010 and 2022, he served as Director of the Centre for Computing and Social Responsibility of De Montfort University. He serves as a Member and Director of ORBIT-RRI limited, a non-profit spin-out company owned by De Montfort University and the University of Oxford which is dedicated to furthering responsible (research and) innovation. His interests cover philosophical issues arising from the intersections of business, technology, and information. This includes ethical questions about current and emerging of ICTs, critical approaches to information systems and issues related to responsible research and innovation.
