Heoncheol Lee
is currently an Associate Professor at the School of Electronic Engineering,
Kumoh National Institute of Technology, Gyeongbuk, Republic of Korea. He
received a Master’s degree from Seoul National University. Then, he completed
his Ph.D. studies in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences there in
2013. From 2013 to 2019, he served as a Senior Researcher at the Agency for
Defense Development (ADD). He has been employed at the Kumoh National Institute
of Technology since 2019, where he obtained the Associate Professor position in
2023. In 2011, he won the Best Paper Award from the Korea Robotics Society. He
was awarded the Commendation from the Defense Acquisition Program
Administration (2019). His research interests are SLAM; autonomous navigation;
multi-robot systems; deep learning for anomaly detection; and FPGA-based
algorithm acceleration.
