Muhammad Awais is a software and machine learning engineer with extensive experience applying deep learning and signal processing techniques to biomedical problems. He holds an MS in Artificial Intelligence from Air University and a BS in Computer Science. His core competencies include Python, TensorFlow, MATLAB, and statistical/frequency feature engineering. Awais has published papers in journals such as Biomedical Signal Processing and Control, Expert Systems with Applications, and CAAI Transactions on Intelligence Technology. His research interests revolve around graph neural networks, EEG analysis, disease detection, and optimizing machine learning models. Recently, he has focused on converting EEG signals into graphs and using generative techniques like GraphVAE for chemical structure prediction. Awais also has industry experience building dashboards, APIs, fraud detection models, and IoT systems.
Samir Brahim Belhaouari received a Master’s degree in telecommunications from the National Polytechnic Institute (ENSEEIHT) of Toulouse, France, in 2000 and a PhD degree in Applied Mathematics from the Federal Polytechnic School of Lausanne (EPFL) in 2006. He is currently an associate professor at the Division of Information and Communication Technologies, College of Science and Engineering, HBKU. He also holds and leads several academic and administrative positions: Vice Dean for Academic & Student Affairs at the College of Science and General Studies and University Preparatory Program at ALFAISAL University (KSA), University of Sharjah (UAE), Innopolis University (Russia), Petronas University (Malaysia), and EPFL Federal Swiss school (Switzerland). His primary research interests include stochastic processes, machine learning, and number theory. He is now actively working on developing algorithms for machine learning applied to visual surveillance and biomedical data, with the support of several international funds for research in Russia, Malaysia, and the GCC.
Kassoul Khelil earned a Master of Science in Electromechanical Engineering (1998) from the University of Boumerdes in Algeria. He further pursued advanced studies in Electrical Engineering at a Paris institution, followed by an engagement as an associate member in the European Large Hadron Collider (LHC) project at CERN. Holder of a postgraduate degree in electrical engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology at Lausanne (EPFL), he has served as a professor of mathematics and physics for Swiss maturity and Baccalaureat classes since 2003. He obtained his PhD in Economics and Management from the Geneva School of Economics and Management (GSEM) in 2022. Presently, Kassoul Khelil holds the position of Scientific Collaborator at the Geneva School of Business Administration, University of Applied Sciences Western Switzerland. His research interests include areas related to applied mathematics, optimization, machine learning, manufacturing engineering, and supply chain management.
