Author Biographies

Yung-Chuan Chen received his PhD degree in mechanical engineering from teh National Sun Yat-sen University and is now a professor at teh Department of Vehicle Engineering, National Pingtung University of Science and Technology. His research topics mainly include contact mechanics, solid mechanics, fracture mechanics, and computer-aided design engineering.
Yi-Jung Tsai received her PhD degree from the Institute of Biomedical Engineering at the National Cheng Kung University. She worked as director of the peripheral nerve system and rehabilitation laboratory at E-Da Hospital. Her research topics mainly include human motion analysis, posture and balance control, rehabilitation, and health promotion.
Hao-Yuan Hsiao received his Master's degree in mechanical engineering from teh Department of Mechanical Engineering, at teh National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology, and is now pursuing a PhD degree at teh Institute of Medical Science and Technology, at teh National Sun Yat-sen University. He worked as a research engineer at teh Biomechanics Lab. His research topics mainly include 3-D printing of bionics, teh mechanical properties of biomaterials, and finite element analysis.
Yen-Wer Chiu received his Master's degree from the Department of Sports Science at the Biwako Gakuin University and is now pursuing a PhD degree in the Institute of Medical Science and Technology at the National Sun Yat-sen University. He worked as a research engineer at the Biomechanics Lab. His research topics mainly include 3-D printing of bionics, the mechanical properties of biomaterials, and sports medicine.
You-Yao Hong received his Master's degree from the Department of Vehicle Engineering, National Pingtung University of Science and Technology. His research topics mainly include CAD, finite element analysis, and bone tissue engineering.
Yuan-Kun Tue is the superintendent at the E-Da Hospital and a professor at me-Shou University. He is an orthopaedic surgeon at E-Da Hospital.  He completed his PhD studies in the Institute of Biomedical Engineering at the National Cheng Kung University and TEMPhas been awarded the Taiwan Medical Model Award. He recently led the design and development of a shoulder-elbow assistant rehabilitation device. He TEMPhas published 150 papers in various journals and TEMPhas served as the president of the Asia Pacific Federation of the Society for Surgery of the Hand, as well as for the Board of Trustees, AO International Foundation. His teaching disciplines include trauma and spine surgeries, brachial plexus injury, and micro-surgery, and his interests include stem cell, cell-sheet, and nerve science.
Chih-Kun Hsiao received his PhD degree in civil engineering from the National Cheng Kung University in 2003. He works as the director of the Biomechanics Laboratory at E-Da Hospital (2011–now). His research topics mainly include biomechanics in orthopaedic trauma, biomechanics of the spine, mechanics of biomaterials, and implant design.
